This event is open to any insured, street legal vehicle (at least two per team) that meets the following guidelines.
- All vehicles/motorcycles must be street legal and carry current registration and inspection.
- All vehicles/motorcycles must carry state minimum insurance.
- All vehicles must have factory seat belts and be worn at all times.
- All vehicles must be in sound running condition (i.e. not leaking excessive amounts of fluids, or exhaust fumes).
- All vehicles must have a spare tire and tire changing tools.
- All motorcycle participants must wear a helmet.
Since Road Rallies are conducted at legal speeds on public roads, almost any street legal and properly insured passenger motor vehicle in good operating order is suitable. The type of vehicle has little bearing on a team's ability to compete.
- Recommended Equipment: We do not require the following items, but we recommend that each team have the following.
- Pens/Pencils and paper for making notes
- Drinks or snacks. No intoxicating alcohol or drugs.
- First Aid Kit
- Event Procedures
- Check In - Teams must show up to check in at the Starting Line (Central Texas History Museum) beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday April 2, 2011. All teams must be checked in by 11:30 AM as the Rally will begin promptly at 12:00 PM. If you wish to participate in the Car Judging we recommend an early check-in as the judging will end at 11:30 AM. You will be required to sign a Acknowledgement Of Responsibility form at the time of check in.
- You will receive a packet with all your documents, your event details, and any other information at check in.

- Start Time: The rally will start at approximately 12:00 PM.
- Upon returning from the rally, each team must check-in. Turn in their rally materials for scoring.
- A cash bar for beer, water and soft drinks will be available.
- Entertainment is provided during the scoring period.
- Food will be provided by local restaurants and the Rotary Club.
- A Silent Auction and Raffle will be held for prizes donated by local businesses.

- General Rules:
- Rally routes must be EXACTLY followed. Missing a checkpoint will result in missed points.
- Seat belts/harnesses must be worn at all times during the event. Failure to do so will result in a penalty. If on a motorcycle, a helmet must be worn by ALL participants at ALL times.
- Rules are to be interpreted by the spirit of the rule, not the letter of the rule.
- Scoring: There are two ways to receiving points in the Rally: the poker hand and rally questions.
- Rally questions. There are 20 questions for each rally route. Each correct answer will be worth 5 points. The number of rally questions correctly answered will only be used if there are ties in the poker hands.
- Events. Events will be placed along each course
- Additional Opportunities. Additional opportunities to increase scores will be available.
- Prizes. Trophies will be awarded for
- 1st Place $300 and Trophy
- 2nd Place $200 and Trophy
- 3rd Place $100 and Trophy
- Sportsmanship: All team members will be required to show good sportsmanship during the
event. Any mistreatment of other teams and their members, vehicles,
etc., may be grounds for disqualification.
- Drinking and drugs:
- No drinking or taking drugs before or during the Rally. If you appear intoxicated or high, you will be disqualified.
- If you wish to have alcohol after the Rally is completed, a cash bar for beer and wine will be available.
- Officials: Please remember all officials are volunteers giving their weekend to make this event happen. The Rotary Club of Bastrop County is sponsoring this event to provide continuing service to the local, national and worldwide community. ANYONE that is rude to an official will have their team severely penalized. If it happens a second time, your team may be disqualified from the event.
